Preaching and leading worship at the Smith Family home church.
The Lord our God loves each and every one of us more then we will ever know. God's desire for our lives is for each of us to have a relationship with Him that continues to grow. He never forces Himself on us, but he quietly calls out to us as we live our lives amongst the noise around us. We are to continually be growing and striving to seek the Lord as we are being shaped through our struggles and the valleys we travel through that take us so low. In many cases it can be even more difficult to keep our focus on our Savior when all seems to be good and all our needs are met. During these times we can forget that everything we have was given to us by our God. He is so faithful even when we forget we were created for Him, by Him, to worship Him and walk a path He prepared before life began. The question is, are we allowing Him to have full control to freely guide our every decision and our every step along the way? Though things around us don't slow down, will we remind ourselves to be still and know that He is God! If your life is centered in Christ, then He will be the focus and everything else will be an area you can use to serve Him through. Do you invite Jesus to go work with you, to the store, to the party, to the places your alone, to sit with you while you watch TV, or go online? Sometimes I think we forget though many times He isn't invited, He is there. As we are reminded of this, do we feel shame? It says in the word of God that nothing is hidden from the site of God. If He is aware of all and we know this, then why don't we look to His word to guide us and give us the instruction we need to serve Him each day. We need to make a change in our lives that will draw us to Him? First, no matter how busy we are, make a decision that no matter what the first thing you will do each day is spend time with God in His word. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-24 it says pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies. Test all things; hold fast to what is good. Abstain from every form of evil. Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. So, let's live our lives transparent before Christ, because in the end all will be exposed. Don't harden your heart, but open it fully to what God can do, allowing Him to change you.
